HONORS DIPLOMA

A student who exceeds the requirements for a NCSD standard diploma may earn a district honors diploma. 

In addition to diploma credit requirements: 

  • Five credits of the required credits must be advanced placement, junior or senior level honors, International Baccalaureate and/or approved college credit courses.  
  • Students must attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better through the seventh semester, demonstrate proficiency as outlined in the Extended Application expectations and meet district graduation requirements including Essential Skills. 
  • A student graduating early must maintain a 3.5 grade point average through six semesters. 
Personalized Learning Diploma Requirements
  • Education Plan & Profile: Develop an education plan and build an education profile to guide learning towards student’s personal, career, and post high school goals. 
     
  • Career-Related Learning Experiences: Participate in experiences that connect classroom learning with real-life experiences in the workplace, community, and/or school relevant to a student's education plan. 
     
  • Extended Application: Apply and extend knowledge and skills in new and complex situations related to the student’s personal and career interests and post-high school goals. These tasks will be completed in Naviance with your teachers and counselor’s guidance.
